Zvezdan Reljić, beloved photographer and designer, dies aged 62

Malta’s art community is reeling from the news of the untimely passing of beloved photographer, artist, and designer Zvezdan Reljić, who passed away aged 62 earlier today.

Zvezdan touched and illuminated the lives of many who crossed his path, inspiring countless artists in Malta and beyond. He believed in the spirit of collaboration and worked with numerous artists and writers since moving to Malta in the 1990s.

He had a distinguished career in various design roles, including working in pre-press, and designing for newspapers and magazines. Most notably, he founded the Kixott cooperative in recent years, which operated from its bar in Mosta, serving as a dynamic centre for creative minds. Zvezdan was also the driving force behind EDE Books.

On the island, he was known for conducting workshops on the art of black-and-white film photography and the intricacies of darkroom printing. He also undertook several personal photography projects, with his most recent being his solo show JA JA JA! at R Gallery in Sliema.

ARTZ ID is deeply saddened with his passing, and we would like to extend our condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace Zvezdan.
