Traineeship Highlights

Successful applicants will be part of the daily operations at the Malta Pavilion in the heart of Venice, gaining hands-on experience in managing a national pavilion at a major international art event. Responsibilities include assisting with exhibition operations, guiding tours, and interacting with visitors. This is an unparalleled opportunity to engage with contemporary art and international artists and curators. The traineeship at the Biennale di Venezia is aimed at enabling the student to engage fluently with the content of the exhibition in Venice. The Biennale di Venezia has been operating since 1895 and most of the famous international contemporary artists and curators exhibit there.

Learning and Development

Trainees will acquire valuable knowledge and skills in contemporary visual art communication, exhibition management, and art administration. This experience will provide a unique insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of the art world, the organisation, co-ordination and the management involved. They will gain insight on the outcome of the intense research process undertaken by the curators, program development, art administration, PR, installation experience and exhibition making.

Support and Monitoring

Daily monitoring and support will be provided by the site officers at the Malta Pavilion, ensuring a well-rounded and educational experience.
