CUBE: Manipulations

This is a solo exhibition, where Sarah Maria Scicluna will be exhibiting a body of work, addressing manipulations of the cube as a form, and their occupation of imaginary space. These structures all have one common departure; the cube. This interest in the cube as a form started out due to the recognition of it being the only regular hexahedron, thus making it somewhat special in comparison to other forms. It is also the basis for many man-made forms through some degree of manipulation.
The works are a series of hand printed silk screen prints. This type of printmaking process allows for flat blocks of ink, and clean lines which are of centre focus of the work. The process started from digital drawings, which later was developed into films, which were used to develop screens and create stencils, and eventually print them in the silk screen technique. The introduction of imitation gold leaf allowed for a secondary exploration of space within the image itself.

*Please note that due to the pandemic, instead of an opening night, there will be an opening day.
On the day, the gallery will be open from 11am – 2pm and 4pm-9pm.

We ask the visitors to respect the following safety guidelines:
-Only 5 visitors inside at a time
-Masks need to be worn inside at all times

Opening times:
Tuesday to Friday: 11am-2pm, 4pm-7pm
Saturdays: 11am-3pm
