Short Bio

Born in Malta, 1951. Works in Gozo, Malta and Berlin, Germany. Graduated in Architecture from the University of Malta in 1977, practicing the profession as architect for twenty years until 1996. Currently Gallery Manager and Artistic Director of Valletta Contemporary, Malta.

Work

– Established Gallerija Fenici (1980- 1983), Meditteranean Conference Centre, Valletta, Malta.

– Represented Malta in the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999.

– He is a founding member of stART (2002) – a group of Maltese contemporary artists.

– Committee member of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts (2002-2005)

– Currently director of GOZO contemporary since 2001 – an art space, offering self-directed 

  residencies to international and local artists, on the island of Gozo. 

– Committee member of Pjazza Teatru Rjal (open air theatre in Valletta, Malta) since 2013.

– Founder of META FOUNDATION since April 2015.

– Opening of Valletta Contemporary, a contemporary art gallery in Valletta, Malta,

  Officially opened in April 2018 (pre-opening event took place during Xmas 2017). Presently, 

  gallery manager and artistic director of VC. ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCIES
