A limited palette, simple forms, and large spaces are the main components that characterize these works by Stephen Saliba. Although the paintings are abstract in nature they often allude to a specific subject tied to their inspiration. The viewer is presented with a meditative timeless space where the mind can wander freely in between the spaces and follow lines that have no beginning or end.

The ultimate aim is to attain the maximum intensity with the minimum of means.
The artist urges that there is nothing to explain – the impact should be instantaneous. It either strikes you or not;- there should be nothing in between.
The surface on which these paintings are drawn is intended for industrial use but has yielded itself perfectly for the artist’s purpose by adding a unique texture to the final piece.
These works are a continuation of a series of paintings that Saliba had exhibited in Brussels some years ago and which have since then established his personal style in a way he can comfortably relate to and develop further
