Short Bio | Sheldon Saliba (b.2000) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Malta, with an interest in socio environmental issues. Currently, his practice explores landscapes in constant flux in both rural and urban environments, investigating aspects related to the post-/Anthropocene including extraction, territorialisation and identifying alternative ways of living. His work uncovers the multiplicity of land use and investigates the dichotomy of human-made and natural materials. He is currently reading for an MA in Fine Arts within the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Malta. Since 2019, Saliba has participated in various collective shows in Malta, such as those at the Gabriel Caruana Foundation (2021/2023), Malta Society of Arts (2023) and the Malta School of Art (2022/2023). In 2020, Sheldon was selected to participate in the ARTIVISTI Programme with his traveling installation Tiles of Occupation, a mentored programme by Arts Council Malta that promotes art and activism.
