Born in 1978, Franco Navarro started his artistic training at the Malta Society of Arts, Palazzo De la Salle in Valletta, and continued his studies at the Malta School of Art, Casa Brunet, also in Valletta. He furthered his studies in 2001 at the History of Art Department, the University of Malta where he achieved a B.A Honours Degree in 2004, followed by a Masters Degree in 2010. Navarro research Hospitaller Armour Decorations alongside Renaissance Artistic techniques, chivalric iconography, and the industry of print-making. In November 2008 Franco delivered a lecture at the Sacra Militia in Valletta and subsequently at the Department of History M.A. Hospitaller Studies, University of Malta. He presently also delivers occasional lectures, the last one being at the Malta School of Art entitled Hospitaller Armed Combat, and the Industry of warfare in 2015. 

Navarro had five solo exhibitions and participated in several collectives. The first expo was held at the Castile Wine Vaults in Valletta, and it was called a Study for the Future, 2004. A second one materialized itself in 2007 at Heritage’s Malta Head office, then in Valletta. January 2012 was the turn of Fáfnir, mounted at the Auberge d’Italie, Merchant Street Valletta. A Mostra was organised at the Razzett tal Markiz, Mosta, entitled Passionate Turmoil in 2015. Act Aeon at the Malta Postal Museum in Valletta, November 2021. Between 2014 and 2015 he contributed to the following events, Inspire, online charitable auction, Winter Salon, Selfie, both at Studio 104, Valletta, and Mara, Palazzo Perriera, Republic Street, Valletta. The Last collectives he participated in were at the Malta Enterprise, the Pandemic, Survival, Art, and New Action, December 2021, Dark Malta Art Exhibition in Rabat, 2022 and I Have a Dream/Wonder Art at the Galleria MA-EC, Palazzo Durini, November 2022/23 respectively in Milan.
