About me

Short Bio

The “byebrucinar” brand was created in 2016 by Ebru Çınar Erdoan,
that is, by me. Inspired by the problems of the modern era, the reflections of my inner world are presented on framed fabrics. The works of my labor include embroidery, embroidery on paper, textile printing, acrylic paint, etc. I represent on fabrics and canvases with blends.

I was born in Turkey in 1988 and now I reflect you what my mother taught me in its modern form. I lived in Poland for 2 years, this has affected my perception and my work a lot and I am presenting this to you in Malta.

In my works, I try to keep the traditional aspects of life and the so-called clichés of the modern world alive.

PHENOTYPE

EMBROIDERY ON ANALOGUE

*Phenotvpe –
An exhibition of embroidery art on analog photography.
The photographs captured on Mono Kosmo 100 Is 35 mm film, developed and scanned by analogue photographer Imen Rahbay. Ebru Cinar, an embroidery artist, embroidered them on canvas fabric by using hand-made 3D objects and modern lines. The artefacts reflect a combination of traditional embroidery and nostalgic analog photography.

The phenotype adapted from the German word phantypus, based on the Greek phaino, which means “shining,” or

“appearance.”
The Phenotype exhibition is aimed to challenge our anthropocentric gaze of the world: their works are characteristic of a non-hierarchical approach, here everything is equally important – plants, animals, things and people.
With this work, we carry an ability to awaken a di
fferent kind of seeing and connection, one that is more delicate and open.

THREAD

A Collective Art Exhibition

Participating artis Ebru Cinar ,Stefan Spiteri, Bernice Vassallo

The exhibition features three artists who experiment a lot with the use of thread in their oeuvre. Apart from this medium, they are also bound by the thematic of nature and organic forms which are almost always present in their works.

Thread has a dual meaning here. It is the main medium in a number of these works which helps in bringing out the organic made up sometimes of figurative leaves and at other times, it is representing a series of paths creating subconscious or conscious fragmented labyrinths, all creating harmonious tangible and intangible, real but surreal spaces. makes the narrative more intriguing and dreamlike.

The exhibition is curated by Melanie Erixon and Darren Tanti for Art Sweven.
