Malta Photographic Society hosts 58th annual photography exhibition
The Malta Photographic Society is hosting its 58th annual national photography exhibition and competition, showcasing a diverse and impressive array of photographs at the Malta Society of Arts, Palazzo de la Salle in Valletta.
This exhibition, open to the public free of charge until December 21st, presents a unique opportunity to witness the evolving artistry and skill in Maltese photography, showcasing a multitude of photographic styles and subjects.
From over 900 submissions by 99 photographers, the competition has culled an exceptional collection of 107 prints and 150 digital images, masterfully curated to reflect the diverse talents of 79 participating photographers.
These images, selected from the national competition held last October, range from emotionally resonant compositions to artistic masterpieces and timeless classics. The exhibition not only highlights individual talents but also illustrates the overall growth in the standard of photography in Malta.
The Malta Photographic Society, established in 1961, aims to foster friendship through photography and promote both the art and science of the medium. Open to everyone with an interest in photography—regardless of gender, age, skill level, artistic or scientific background—the society encourages participation from a broad spectrum of photography enthusiasts.
This annual event is not just an exhibition but a celebration of the rich photographic culture in Malta, and it promises to be an inspiring experience for all who visit.
The exhibition opened on 1st December and will close on 21st December, open on weekdays from 8am to 7pm, and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
