WIĊĊ IMB WIĊĊ – Fading Social Distancing
A visual art exhibition by Pawlu Mizzi
This exhibition is the outcome of the online contemporary art project by Pawlu Mizzi which was held via Facebook, titled ‘The (Facebook) Portrait Project II’ – a group that was accessible to anyone across the globe to join.
By enlisting in the mentioned group, people were taking part in a social exercise of portraiture creation as a positive metaphor towards the complete fading out of the distancing caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of ‘collective portraits’ were created by Mizzi. Each collective portrait is made up of a group of ten consecutive persons who joined the group, by using their Facebook profile pictures. Each participant was tagged and invited to share his/her thoughts and reactions about social distancing and the urge for the human touch.
The exhibition is curated by Art Sweven and will run from the 27th April till 18th May 2021, with all the Covid-19 safety regulations in place.
All of the works displayed at the exhibition will also be viewable on artsweven.com.
