take me home – Part 2

Postponed multiple times due to Covid and travel restrictions but finally happening!

A three-part touring exhibition by iella that started in London and is destined for Australia will continue in Malta at DESKO gallery in Valletta on the 17th November! A two-week socially distanced show which will run until the 1st of December.
This breakthrough debut show for UK-based Maltese illustrator Daniela Attard reflects on the process of leaving home, long-distance relationships, life in constant transit and the phases in-between. These personal experiences have been translated into complex drawings by the artist, reflecting on key lessons and experiences from the past few years. The drawings explore the themes of homesickness, nostalgia and the age old saga of trying to find one’s place in the world.

As well as the main body of work, gallery-goers will also get the chance to delve into the fascinating sketchbooks of the artist. The exhibition is free and open to the public, with the exciting opportunity to meet the artist throughout the duration of ‘Take Me Home’.
