The Passage of Time
A photography fine art project
The passage of time focuses on exploring the process of nature and photographing the end result. The process consists of freezing flowers in ice cubes and photographing flowers in water day-by-day. A black background is used to express a void - and perhaps the death of the flowers. Texture and colour are an important theme of this project, as well as simplicity, with the focal point being directly on the flower. The photographs are large and in diptychs, placed on one wall. The reason being that the viewers are meant to feel small. Even though they are dead, they are still considered beautiful beings.
