Mother Nature

The images are derived from a prehistoric sculpture of a figure that is known as the goddess of fertility. In each work I incorporated the form of an egg as part of the outline of the figure as a reference to religious symbols related to fertility and rebirth. The small multi-coloured spheres which were used to construct each image are intended to reinterpret how atoms are defined and illustrated by physicists. The colour scheme used throughout the figure refers to the seven chakras that are associated with Eastern spiritual traditions. My aim was to explore an artistic process which fuses visual notions related to science and spirituality in a single integrated system.
