Kurżitajiet

The works in this ongoing series stem from the 16th century idea of the Kunstkammer/Wunderkammer, whereby a cabinet was dedicated to a collection of various curious objects from around the world. These varied from items pertaining to natural history, geology, ethnography, archeology, religious or historical relics, works of art and antiquities. My kurzitajiet are a conglomeration of organic structures inspired from seed pods. The works are done in ink, on Japanese, paper, with rice paper inlays.
