KONKOS

An interactive sculptural installation

KONKOS is an interactive sculptural installation which invites the viewers to take a concrete block and place it anywhere they wish on either of three topographical maps; Valletta, Tigne Point and Manoel Island. This work comments on the transitions that our urban environment is undergoing and has been undergoing ever since human presence has been on our islands, from the redevelopment of the Forni della Signoria in the 1930s to the redevelopment of Tigne Point in 2001, this cycle is never ending. Throughout the exhibition, the skyline of this work will be manipulated as people place their block, and without any rules set out, people will only be following their intuition. Work produced as part of Idejarti - Skultura, a collaborative project between the Malta School of Art and Aġenzija Żgħażagħ. Maltarti feature: https://fb.watch/dahoZUjxfe/
