Untitled: Works on Paper

Workshop and final exhibition

A workshop that had neither a prescribed theme nor an umbrella concept. Starting with the determination of a status quo and a conversation on aspiration and potential fields of development, participants were encouraged to withdraw into themselves to work, to reflect and to exchange ideas. The aim was to familiarise oneself with his/her own work and working method so far as to enable gradual distancing and further development. The expansion of the terrain depends on the knowledge of what already exists. All classic painting and drawing techniques were welcome calling for process-oriented and open-minded practices initiated via one-to-one conversations and eventually implemented in the work. The end of the project was celebrated via the curation and setting up of a final exhibition of the participating artists. This workshop allowed me to widen my network of international artists, art critics and curators, whilst producing an impressive amount of works on paper inspired by the surroundings. Works include large and small scale artworks and a 32 page artist's book. Such works have inspired me to apply for my upcoming residency in January 2021 at Muza. Further details to be uncovered soon.
