Displacing

Multimedia installation; video, body, touch, and ink on paper, 59.4 x 84.1 cm each

Revisiting the idea of human touch, Displacing explores the interpretation
and portrayal of the human figure
based on sensation, rather than form.
Removing the element of sight, it takes an unconventional approach
towards depicting figure, moving away from the norms and expectations of an aesthetic driven society. 'To displace; to move or put out of the usual or regularised position.'. 'Touch; an organic transmission between subject and object.'. This project was done in collaboration with artist Martina Camilleri.
