Aediculae

a series of frames

Aediculae, in Italian known as Edicole, are small structures used as shrines; Niches for sacred statues or images. These function as places of devotion but have become part of the Sicilian culture for both worshippers and not, "taking over the streets" and becoming a cult themselves. The last image is a later addition with a difference within the series itself, as the shrine is not mounted nor carved into a wall, but is placed on the rocks in the sea, where the area takes its name from another sacred symbol, 'Croce di Mare'.
