Plenty of Fish in the Sea

Size: 3508 x 3336 px

Medium: Digital Illustration

Year: 2020

“CLOWN-FISH-MAN” as I have been calling him seems to make a lot of people pause and reflect, it makes them ‘feel things’. Clearly, the illustrations have a story to tell. It is a dark truth in life and there is a sense of discomfort that comes with it.

The character conveys a simple life, one that many can relate with and although it is a fantasy character, fish for a head and human body, one can get past ‘physical looks’ and connect. It is not a ‘beauty-industry-standard’ male figure, but a normal one. The whole posture within itself shows a moment of reflection and loneliness which is emphasised even further with the second illustration. (linked here) (1)

Clown-fish-man is holding roses, yet the lighting and the expressions in the body shows clear indication of sadness – a date gone wrong? Judging from the comments of the audience, for some reason or another, they bonded with a being that never spoke, and is completely fictional. (2)
