I started this self-portrait almost a year ago and recently felt the urge to finish it. The floating head represents my detachment from feelings and experiences, as if I’m trying to distance myself. Detached and shadowed, it indicates a feeling of being adrift or disconnected from my emotions. The closed eyes signify an unwillingness to acknowledge my feelings. Revisiting this work feels like a chance to confront those emotions.
