Arc de Triomphe wrapped in Paris art installation

Visitors to the city of love will be able to see L’Arc De Triomphe as it has never been seen before. After more than three months of installation, over 1,000 workers came together to bring Christo and jeanneclaude‘s dream to life. In accordance with the artist’s wishes, L’Arc de Triomphe is wrapped in 25,000 square metres of recyclable silvery blue fabric, and 3,000 metres of recyclable red rope.

To coincide with the unveiling, Sothebys France  is hosting an exhibition of original artworks on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré which chart the project’s journey from inception to completion. Each work will be available to purchase privately, with proceeds to benefit both the ‘L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped’, project, and the ChristoJeanneClaude Foundation, established to safeguard the artists’ legacy for future generations.
